the roots

"I want to go on living even after my death! And therefore I am grateful to God for giving me this gift, this possibility of developing myself and of writing, of expressing all that is in me." -Anne Frank

"I will praise You, O Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders.
I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High." -Psalm 9:1-2

a bit about me

There was a time not so long ago that I was basically friendless. In my faith, I relied on the teaching I had received through Sunday School and my parents growing up. Suddenly, about six years ago, some serious doubts plagued my mind. Questions about God and faith and trust arose that shook my belief. I wondered if God really did exist and if maybe we based our lives on a mere ideal.

So I began to research - to find an unbiased view of God. It was not easy because most of the time, people fail to present the pros- and cons- of a subject they write about. But over the course of time, the information all seemed to point to one place: the complexity of Creation, the extraordinary fact that the story of Jesus has transcended centuries, and, above all, the ability of faith in Christ to change lives.

In the end, it was the last that berthed a new, profound faith that continually fuels my life, day upon day. With the first breath I take at the beginning of a day to the moment I slip into REM, God is right there with me. When school seems insurmountable or life overwhelming, I know that I can rely on the Lord to rescue me.

Since I was little, I have always enjoyed writing stories. As I've grown, writing has become more than stories though. Writing is the verbalization of emotions and thoughts. It can make sense of a nonsensical world. Music is similar to this, turning passion into something you can hear, into notes you can taste. It's amazing. When the two - writing and music - come together, the most profound statements about mankind are born.
